EXPLORING THE

DRILOSPHERE

DOCUMENTARY PRODUCTION

Arrow_edited_edited.png

Exploring The Drilosphere is a feature documentary that moves

between soil, bodies, and communities, tracing the invisible systems  that turn decay into life.

Through dance, science, and global

encounters, the film asks how care for the unseen might reshape our  future.

The film’s subject matter is wonderful”

“Exploring The Drilosphere” has the vision built upon the ethos of us and local art and cultural support impacts. We believe in the power of art to provoke thought, inspire action, and foster connections within communities"

Vera Lam

Director of HART Gallery Hong Kong

Exploring the Drilosphere ”highlights the critical importance of a vulnerable part of our ecosystem that remains largely hidden from our day-to-day experience and, therefore, receives little attention or protection. Remarkably, the project goes far beyond factual academic inquiry. It also speculatively explores requisite cultural and belief systems that may help restore and sustain the health of the drilosphere”

Design educator, researcher, & professor at the School of Design, SUSTECH

: the fraction of soil that has passed through the gut and the anus of the earthworm -

leaving behind nutrient‑rich castings and a labyrinth of tunnels that help to sustain life.
