PROJECT LAUNCH MARKETING VIDEO CAMPAIGN

CHOICES

You Are what You Eat

The request to create a Video Campaign for a Citizen Science Recruitment Program came from our NGO client,

The Mushroom Initiative (TMI).

The concept wasn’t easy to deliver:
How do you choose between an apple and another apple?

Or between a banana and another banana?

Let’s take a step back: TMI takes a science-based approach to their numerous environmental projects. To raise awareness of food waste and the decreasing nutritional content in industrially grown food, they created a scanner that calculates the amount of nutrients in fruits and vegetables.

This amazing scanner can show you that a less-than-perfect looking strawberry may contain more nutrients than a perfectly formed, expensive one. This scanner doesn’t only help consumers make better nutritional choices, it can also guide farmers during growth.

Volunteers from the Recruitment Program scan as many fruits and vegetables as possible to collect valuable data to build a database.

What we created

A Video Campaign with two online videos for a Citizen Science Recruitment Program.

This generated a successful Vegetable and Fruit Scanner data collection project.

The Science behind the Project

“You are what you eat.”

We’ve all heard this saying before, but how many of us really pay attention to the fact that what we eat determines our health?

The food we eat is an essential and fundamental component of our daily life. Food is broken down into smaller elements through the digestive process and absorbed to support our daily functioning.

With the rising consciousness of healthy lifestyle choices, we now know that we must eat well to optimise our body’s functions and prevent chronic illnesses. However, what does eating well mean?

Our bodies have a diverse range of needs; apart from macronutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats, micronutrients such as minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants are equally essential. Ensuring we can get all that our bodies need is essential for long-term and short term health.
